Backup: How many space is needed?

DReffects

Basic Pleskian
hey folks,

i have a 60GB website on a 160GB hdd with about 78 GB of free space.

i figured that backing up my site wouldnt be a problem. but for some reason it is... plesk seems to write a incredibly large file with a cryptic filename in my /tmp folder (which consumes most of my space) and then starts to create the actual backup file at /backup or on my ftp

the problem is that my harddisk is getting maxed out to the last byte. seems like plesk first gathers the information to some place (/tmp) and then starts compressing?! or something into the real backup file.

is there any way to backup my data?

thanks
-daniel

Try deleting the logs files using your plesk control pane. That should free up some space for you to be able to back up your sites.

That worked for me.
