Question Best practice to migrate all the domains from one server?

SalvadorS

Regular Pleskian
Hello,

I have 150 domains in one server wth Plesk 11.0 and Debian 6 and now it is time to migrate the domains to another server with Debian 8 and Plesk 12.5.

I don´t have a slave DNS server so all these domains are under their owns DNS.

I am thinking what is the best practice to migrate all the domains at the same time. This is my conclusion:

I create a new server with different IP.
Then migrate all the domains.
Then I switch off the old server.
Then change the IP of the new server to the IP of the old server on /etc/network/interfaces
Restart networking
Then I change the IP of the new server with the tool /usr/local/psa/bin/reconfigurator.pl
Then I execute /usr/local/psa/bin/repair -r to repair all the IPs to the new IP

And that is all.

Any suggestions? Does anybody know a better method to do it?

Thanks

Hello SalvadorS,

This is a good plan for migration without changing IP addresses.
Do not forget to verify that all domains is functioning properly on the new environment before transferring IP addresses.
