• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

TITLE:
[Event manager] event "Default domain, DNS zone updated" fires multiple times
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:
Plesk Onyx v17.8.11_build1708180301.19, CentOS Linux 7.7.1908 (Core)
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The event "Default domain, DNS zone updated" fires multiple times when adding a new subscription to Plesk. It fires only once (as expected) when the DNS zone is updated trough plesk.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
  1. Create "Default domain, DNS zone updated" event in event manager.
  2. Remove any other events (just in case).
  3. Create simple script and log file (see my example below) to run when event is fired.
  4. Create new subscription.
  5. View log results to see the event has actually run multiple times.
Code:
#!/bin/bash
# Set permission for script: chmod +x test-event.sh

touch /tmp/tmp.log
echo "Event fired for domain ${NEW_DOMAIN_NAME}" >> /tmp/tmp.log
ACTUAL RESULT:
Event fires 5 times
EXPECTED RESULT:
Event to fire only once
ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The same "Default domain, DNS zone updated" event only fires once (as expected) when the DNS zone is updated trough Plesk.
