• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
    With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Failed to apply Micro Updates

As this user posted in this thread last year - http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=114315 - you can not apply the MU when you do not have a qmail group (like those of us who use postfix).

So if you got that email from parallels about the security update urging you to apply a micro update and yet you cant get it to install, that poster previous indicated the fix - add the group and try again.

here is my experience - Parallels please fix this oversight on your part.

I am not at the latest MU version - should be 17
# grep 'patch version' /root/.autoinstaller/microupdates.xml
<patch version="16" timestamp="" />

No Qmail user exists, and so it fails to parse the file and then tells me that I am completely up to date! if I didnt already know better I probably would have just stopped there, possibly leaving my server exposed to this critical security vulnerbility.

# /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/autoinstaller --select-product-id plesk --select-release-current --reinstall-patch --install-component base

and now it correctly reflects the patched version
# grep 'patch version' /root/.autoinstaller/microupdates.xml
<patch version="17" timestamp="" />

Could I also push for Parallels to sort that out - it's a silly little oversight which is causing a real problem! We do NOT use qmail for obvious reasons so why do we need to add a group qmail on a system without qmail??

Thank you for report. I have forwarded it to responsible persons. It will be fixed soon.
