  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Flash Player for Sitebuilder

I want to use a media or Flash player on my website for multiple screen/video shots. What free Media or Flash player can I use with the Sitebuilder script module that provides the simplest interface? Can it be done? Does it need any programming which may be a challenge for me.

Can you suggest a pluggin that requires the least amount of resources without sacrificing to much quality.

Where can I get and read a guideline on how to do this?

Regards
Gerhardt

For now, there is no built-in support for playing video on Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder side. You can only insert video and audio files from YouTube and other streaming media providers. It can be done with help of Script module. For more information refer to http://download1.parallels.com/SiteBuilder/4.5.0/doc/user/en_US/html/index.htm -> Populating Site with Content -> Working with Modules -> Inserting Scripts into Your Web Pages.
Hope it helps.

Thanks for the info. I have used the Sitebuilder script function with PHPLIST for a newsletter and works great.

a. Where can I read more about YouTube and other streaming media providers.
b. Which of the following ones can be used http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_media_players
c. Of those recommended in (b) above where can I read up on the scripts and formats

Regards

Script module gives you only ability to insert your own scripts and run it on publication side. So,
a. I guess you can get all available information in Internet. This is not related to Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder itself.
b. It is up to
c. Plesk Sitebuilder allows you to add any code written in any scripting or other language into the Script module: HTML, DHTML, XML, PHP, ASP, SSI, Perl/CGI, JavaScript, Java applets, and many more. You can find all kinds of third party scripts on popular webmaster's resources available on the Internet.

scripts for youtube

I have just had a go at making a youtube custom player and copied the code,
then I entered a script onto my Parallets sitebuilder during edit,
I then entered the code provided by youtube from my account,
published the edited page,

So what happened,

the website page became very wide and had to scroll to the right alot
and this looks ugly
and only the code was visible no custom player "which was un-clickable"

to say No video player

what I have done in the past is to create a photo and link the photo to a
youtube video I have in my account collection
but this only looks like a photo with a blue outlline "A Link"
and not one of those pretty looking cool video players

Where did I go wrong?? does any body know
