  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

how do i keeep maillogs longer then 4 weeks?

Linulex

Silver Pleskian
In the Netherlands there is the wet bewaarplicht (data retention law).
Maillogs must be kept for 1 year. I know i can make a backup, but i would simply like to change the logrotation in plesk to 52 weeks.

Can i change /usr/local/psa/etc/logrotate.conf without creating any problems? Will it keep the changes or will this be overwritten the next update? Or is there a config i can enter in a psa database table to change this?

Regards
Jan

There is no warning that this file will be overwritten in top of /usr/local/psa/etc/logrotate.conf
But this file is a part of plesk-service-node-utilities package. And if this package will be updated in one of microupdate file /usr/local/psa/etc/logrotate.conf can be theoretically overwritten.
But I think that you can safely modify it.

I have scripts to check if a file has been changed by an external source. Ill put those in place and just go ahead and change it. Thanks for the warning.

Maybe it is an idea to implement something like this in plesk itself as the rule to keep mail logs, etc... for 6 to 24 months is a european law that every in europe operating provider must follow. I was wrong to say its 12 months, i learned that it is in the netherlands 6 months, but i know that the european rule will become law in october in belgium and there it will be 12 months.
We also need to keep who made a mailbox from what ip address at what date and time (up to the second), but that is already implemented in plesk.

regards
Jan
