Huge POP3/IMAP traffic increase

Last month the domain in questions POP3/IMAP traffic history showed the following:

Code: 
POP3/IMAP	356.24 MB	1.26 MB	354.98 MB

So far this month it shows:

Code: 
POP3/IMAP	11 078.86 MB	1.72 MB	11 077.14 MB

Something here is definitely not right - can anyone offer any suggestions to figure out exactly what is going on here?

I've checked out the maillog, but haven't found anything ...

Please help. :)
