Hi,
Last few days I've had some bizarre spikes in server load, in excess of 160 in some cases. So much so the only recovery I've found is to reboot the server as the serving of pages grinds to a halt. Nothing had changed config-wise, root-kit hunter finds nothing, mail queue seems free and empty and as you can see from the top scan it says there are no strange CPU loads.
Can anyone advise any routes of investigation?
I've had to reboot the server twice today already and I'm drawing a blank as to what could be the runaway item
Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.
