Install extra PHP modules

Hi, I'm really stuck on this issue.
Can someone please help me with step by step information on how to install the following PHP modules on my FreeBsd 5.3 with 7.52:
- GD
- Curl

I specially would like to know how to recompile PHP after I installed these packages.
