Question Installing 4.6 .NET Framework

Hello,

I have been using windows 2008 R2 server, and currently using 4.0.30319.34209 .NET framework. Now I would like to install 4.6 .NET framework, is it safe to install it in production server? Will I face any issue after installing 4.6 .NET framework in my server? If it is safe to install please let me know the procedure to install it.
