• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Question Installing Plesk while having Lamp already installed

alihamra

New Pleskian
Hello, i'm still new to server setup and i have a question about installing a Plesk into my Ubuntu server. I already setup a LAMP when i installed Ubuntu for learning and testing purposes. Now i read about having my own control panel and found Plesk. My question is that when i start doing the installation for Plesk it shows that it will install on " Clean Server " ? Does it mean that i need to remove LAMP completely from my server ? or is it fine to proceed.

Thank you

Hi alihamra,

actually, the recommendation is quite clear here: Pls. use a clean server, as Plesk configures as well apache+php, which might conflict with your current installation. ;)

Pls. don't forget to have a look at the SUPPORTED components, when you use Plesk:
