• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Is there a Way to re-initialize the named bind 9.3.1 under plesk 7.4.5 ??

Reason: config files seem to be buggy since this morning. probably truncated due to false backup procedure.

named ist starting, but does not respond to requests. I either need to know, what is missing in the config files, or simply re-initialize the whole bind service. All zones will be stored in the PSA db, right?

Can anyone give me a hint to get rid of 'SERVFAIL' messages and customers complaining....

If you have a server backup, you can try restoring.

The DNS info is stored both in a Plesk database, but also exist in actual files. The database is what Plesk uses to recreate the on-disk files. The files are what Bind actually uses to run.

Have you checked the log file, sometimes error messages can give direction to the cause.
