Hi,
I face for nextcloud for sodium / argon2i on Ubuntu 18 the following issue:




The same was discussed here in the past: Nextcloud asking for `sodium` although being installed · Issue #28398 · nextcloud/server

The output for the check described by @Martin Dias worked:

but I can see in the database that nextcloud is not using it for new passwords which caused a massive impact since all users were not able to login any more since the argon format can not be read anymore.

Hello, we did experience the same problem with our Nextcloud instances because of the latest Plesk PHP updates. Try to restart your PHP handlers. This did help in our case. More info can be found here: Issue - No sodium extension for PHP 7.4.30 FPM

Thx @Hangover2 , that solved indeed the issue. Leaves the question why are the handlers not automatically restarted after the upgrade...

I did inform the Plesk team in the Bugreport about the restart issue already: Forwarded to devs - PHP extension sodium is suddenly not bundled anymore

We are using the dedicated PHP FPM application only. We cannot say, if the normal PHP FPM application was also affected. When another PHP update is rolled out by Plesk we will look deeper into that matter concerning if reload or restart is used and for which application type.
