Java 1.5 upgrade

Is it possible to upgrade java from 1.4.2.07 (which seems to be the version I have on my server) to 1.5, without using third party software like NGASI ?
Using Plesk/Linux 8.2.1 (psa v8.2.1_build82070918.10 os_FedoraCore 4).

Thanks for help to a newbie.

Anybody there ?
Anybody in this forum wanting to switch to a newer Java version ?
Or having done this switch ?

Unfortunately I have asked this same question, as I would like to upgrade to jdk 1.5, or 1.6. However it seems that plesk has yet to release a version that you can upgrade to these newer jdk's through just plesk. Everything is done with an add on like NGASI. You can upgrade your jdk manually if you wanted, and there are posts about how to do that. But I've been trying to hold off and wait for plesk to be able to do it itself. And have put in multiple requests as to why this has not been done, and why they are using a multiple year old jdk. To no avail. Hopefully soon they will get an upgrade available, but I don't believe its coming.

Sorry for the bad news.

Thanks for your information and help.
