log files grow up very fast after update

hi
after i upgrade from 8.1.1 to 8.2.1 my customer and i too see some problem in php sites.
one of this problem is about error_log.
before upgrade the size of this file was small about 1 or 2 MB and just error event was at it. but now the error log is about 3GB and every php event is in it.every php file and every line has PHP Notice.
my question is : how i can stop PHP Notice?

before upgrade the error_log didnt has this PHP Notice.. pls help ...
my php version is:
php 4.3.9-3.22.3
mysql 4.1.20-1.RHEL4.1

Turn off notices in php.ini as part of the error reporting.

Or update the code so it doesn't generate the notices. And you might want to enable log rotation.
