mmap cache can't open

General question - I've seen some of these errors lately loosely scattered around different servers.

[Mon Dec 1 21:08:20 2008] [warn-phpd] mmap cache can't open /var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs/file.php - Permission denied (pid 7831)

Does that just mean that the file doesnt have enough permission to be executed?

Im not terribly familiar with the mmap error messages, google didnt help much either. Does anyone know what this really means and what causes it?
