• The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

I see in my updates for Plesk 7.5.4 that there are patches (or perhaps updates is more appropriate) for various items. After the update from .3 to .4, I had a few problems I don't wish to repeat. Patching is fine, but I don't want bugs to stack on other bugs if the fix isn't a fix to anything I need. Does anyone know where I might find out this information prior to the update? I would think there would have to be some sort of change log somewhere?

Hi,

The base-package patch is:

psa-hotfix-7.5.4-fc2.build75050926.17.i586.rpm - installed
psa-bu-7.5.4-fc2.build75050926.17.i586.rpm

The AppVault patch is:

phpBB-2.0.17-7508.noarch.rpm - updated older package phpBB
phpBB dissapeared from my ApplVault-list - HELP !!!

The Spamassassin patch is:

psa-spamassassin-7.5.4-fc2.build75050927.15.i586.rpm

The additional Horde components:

psa-turba-2.0.3-fc2.build75050926.17.noarch.rpm

Watchdog is also patched, but I have already uninstalled, I prefer SIM.

I've looked into /usr/local/psa/var/cgitory and there it's missing, the old phpBB was deleted there, but not replaced.

Then I looked into the temp psa install dir: /psa/psa7.5.4/rpm_FedoraCore_2/opt/vault THERE it is ! When I check the installation it tells me that the package is already installed.

When I do a locate phpBB I get back that 2.0.17 is installed in the psa/var/cgitory directory but I cannot see it ??? Is this a ghost file ?

In the psa database I also couln'd find an entry for phpBB.

FOUND: The rpm links to install-dir /opt/psa/var/cgitory

I'll try to change that and reinstall.

Bart

just removed the installation (rpm -e phpBB)

- deleteted the dir /opt/psa (which doesn't belong there and was made by the buggy install.

- tried to edit the rpm, but that gaves me a MD5 error, so I deleted it (in case they have fixed it later)

- installed the previsious rpm -Uvh phpBB-2.0.17-7505.noarch.rpm

Now it is back in Plesk.

Greetings,

I think my question was misunderstood. What I want to know is what has changed (what was resolved, added, modified or addressed in order to make this build worth installing). I'm not going to risk a buggy application if whatever has been addressed isn't valuable to me or my clients.

Example:
Watchdog - fixed an error which caused qmail to shut down unexpectedly.

or

Plesk 7.5.4 v.2 - Plesk core components:
added - domain parking
fixed - bug one
fixed - bug two
fixed - bug three
..

To assume that whatever is being given to me is in the best interests of me and my client base without having more to go on is naive. Since I am hopeful that the creators of Plesk are not that naive, I assume they have a changelog somewhere where I can see this information?

JLChafardet ~ That is exactly what I was looking for. Is there a URL for this information that maintains ongoing updates by chance, or is this something you prepared for our benefit?

Either way, thanks.

I have build 75050824.12 installed. When I go to the CP updater is shows that my system is up to date.

Why does it not find: 75050928.18 Is this not on the CP updater yet?

Do an 'rpm -qa |grep 'psa-' and see if you have multiple psa-locale-base-en versions installed. There was another post I glanced at earlier today which showed he had 2 different versions installed

Plesk Support told me this morning...

"Build 75050928.18 has minor changes in comparison to 75050824.12. So, there is actually no need to update your installation."

That's correct. You only need to upgrade if the following are causing you problems:

What's new in Plesk v.7.5.4 build 75050928.18
==============================================
[-] Dr. Web starting causes qmail-queue to loose suid bit
[-] Sheduled Backups reset last timestamp
[-] Proftpd problem with group owner during file uploading
[-] Spam mail isn't deleted/marked
[-] Spamassassin corrupted by Watchdog
[-] Value for checkbox 'WWW-prefix' missed if domain administrator changes
properties of the account
[-] Wrong permissions for /var/qmail/bin/qmail-queue after start/stop of
Drweb.
[-] Plesk does not recognize main IP
[*] Germany LP for watchdog is updated
[-] phpBB issue is fixed

Yea.

Sadly 75050824.12 has the buggy PHPBB install and 75050928.18 fixes that.

However the CP updater doesn't show another upgrade because Plesk think it's too minor.

If you have the 75050824.12 PHPBB problem you just have to manually re-install PHPBB yourself.

My 2 cents...

Personally I'd be concerned with at least these 2 items on any of my servers:

[-] Spam mail isn't deleted/marked
[-] Plesk does not recognize main IP

If I were to use DrWeb (which I refuse to do) I might want those fixes as well.
