TELLO0815

Basic Pleskian
Hi all,
i have on my Plesk 18.0.33 the "default" DB MariaDB.
I need to use mySQL. But what is the way to setup a mySQL database? I have only the MariaDB for new DB´s?

THX for help.

Did you know MariaDB is a drop-in replacement for MySQL? Is there a specific reason you want to use MySQL?

Anyway, you could run MySQL in a docker container.

#docker run --name=mysql -v /root/MySQL/datadir:/var/lib/mysql -e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=Your-Password -p 127.0.0.1:3307:3306 "mysql:5.5.62"

Tools & Settings > Database Servers > Add Database Server

Host name or IP address - 127.0.0.1
Port - 3307
Username - root
Password - Your-Password

I know I know... Its just that my dev mamp pro works with mySQL. All the time when I migrate my db live I have the problems with json to longtext.
I would like to fix this for my project.

It's by far a better practice to have your development environment match your production rather than the other way around.
