I am new to root servers but have a lot of unix experience. I recently leased a server from 1and1. I started out using their control panel. I setup 8 external domains that I am the webmaster for. A couple of them I had to change the MX mail server settings to point to a couple of different Exchange servers. I was not happy with how combersome it was to set it up using the 1and1 control panel so I decided to use Plesk 8.0. I setup my domains in the Plesk Control panel with no problem. I changed some settings and thought the Plesk control panel would override the 1and1 contol panel. Tech support at 1and1 told me I need to cancel the external domain names I had setup in the 1and1 control panel first and then set them up in Plesk. Does this sound correct? Any direction someone could give me regarding this would be great plus any input on setting up the MX mail server settings in Plesk. Also, how long does it take to replicate once I make my changes in Plesk.
