• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Problems with my account specifically mails with passwords

JesúsP

New Pleskian
Hi,

First of all thanks for the help.

I have a problem creating e electrononicos.

I want the emails have the word username

eg

[email protected]

Password: amapola01

And jumps Plesk configuration with the following message:

The password can not contain the username.
This password will be used if the email address is not assigned to any user account. Email addresses assigned to user accounts using passwords for user account.

Where I can set this up in order to create this email account?

Not sure if I understand exactly what you want to achieve, but your mail account passwords cannot contain the mail account username.

Plesk will allow you to have the password the same as the username if you capitalize letters.

eg. [email protected], password: "TestAccount"

For security reasons, it's not a good idea to use the mail account username as the password. This is one of the first password guesses someone trying to hack an account would try! Exactly why Plesk will not allow you to do it!

Many Thanks for the reply.

But I can not change the configuration of Plesk, to let me put a password as the user name of the mail account?.

regards

There aren't any UI configuration options to change that security feature.

By disabling that warning, you would be compromising the security of your server / mail accounts, potentially opening up your server for the use of spamming!

You're right!

But I need it because a user wants to keep the password he had on another server and contained just the user name.

So if anyone knows how to set this up, for not skipping the warning, give me solution and I appreciate it.

Greeting

Try creating the account using the command line tools rather than via Plesk GUI? It might work.

But I would refuse to allow any customer to set such a password. It is typically one of the things the bad guys use as a password guess.
