Qmail queue out of control

Hi,

I'm using 7.5.4 reloaded for on RHEL9. I have a small setup with probably 25 domains but my mail queue (as per qmail-qstat) is over 3000 messages. I spent yesterday trying to figure this out and there are two thing which are 'clues' to me.

1) The permissions on the directories in /var/qmail/mailnames are weird:
Code:
drwx------ 2 popuser popuser 4096 Mar 28 2006 eatdot.co.uk
d--------- 2 root root 4096 Nov 14 2005 encosta.info
some have 000 permission with root, root while others have 700 with popuser, popuser. Could this be a problem? Why are some domains different to others.

2) I had a domain called servicespan.com which I removed a few months ago but somehow it was still present in the bind config files /etc/named/conf and in /var/named/servicespan.com. Of course I removed this as soon as I found it. 75% of the mails in my mailq are for this above domain and they're still coming in now. Here is a sample:
Code:
1 Oct 2006 23:53:10 GMT #3230395 28322 <>
        local [email][email protected][/email]
7 Nov 2006 00:55:07 GMT #3233753 8237 <[email protected]>
        local [email][email protected][/email]
1 Nov 2006 01:31:01 GMT #3230441 28072 <>
        local [email][email protected][/email]
4 Nov 2006 12:41:26 GMT #3238307 2064 <[email protected]>
        local [email][email protected][/email]
3 Nov 2006 05:14:10 GMT #3229889 2056 <[email protected]>
        local [email][email protected][/email]
5 Nov 2006 12:47:22 GMT #3232511 3026 <[email protected]>
        local [email][email protected][/email]
This all looks like spam to me but why is my server even accepting these into it's queue?

Thanks for all your help!

Hans
