• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

qmail - slow e-mail downloading

Mikusss

New Pleskian
Hello,

I have a VPS with Plesk 8.6 running Centos5, 512 MB ram (1024 max burstable) and 2 GHz dedicated CPU. I wonder if anybody came across this problem:

I have a domain with "busy" mailbox (in comarison to others on that server) which after few days reaches around 50-100 MB. For example now it has around 50 MB in total with small messages, most of which is spam. Downloading the content via POP3 takes forever. On average 20-60 seconds per message, with really slow speed no matter which client (either software or pc) I use.

I know the server specs are rather low, but according to stats it does not reaches its maximum as far as resources are concerned and more importantly - the other mailboxes are fine (not exactly superfast, but quite ok).

I also tried in the past to completely delete the mailbox account and recreate it, but did not help at all and after some time it is the same again.

So the question is, how can I investigate what could cause this issue? Is it the "big" mailbox? But I guess that 50 megs should not be that much. What else could it be?

Appreciate if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
Mike.
