• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
    If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Request is invalid response yet request seems ok

Basic Pleskian
Hi,

I am trying to update the ftp password for a domain using the following request:

<packet version="1.6.0.0">
<domain>
<set>
<filter>
<domain-name>domain.com</domain-name>
</filter>
<values>
<hosting>
<vrt_hst>
<property>
<name>ftp_password</name>
<value>qwerty</value>
</property>
</vrt_hst>
</hosting>
</values>
</set>
</domain>
</packet>

Yet I am getting a response that the request is invalid, however I cannot see why?

I have been looking through the documentation for a couple of hours now but this does not shed any light on the problem - can anyone here help me?

Thanks

Thanks for that, it did help me get to a solution in the end.

The actual correct way to do it for 1.6.0.0> for anyone interested is:

<packet version="1.6.0.0">
<domain>
<set>
<filter>
<domain-name>domain.com</domain-name>
</filter>
<values>
<hosting>
<vrt_hst>
<property>
<name>ftp_login</name>
<value>login</value>
</property>
<property>
<name>ftp_password</name>
<value>pass</value>
</property>
<ip_address>ip</ip_address>
</vrt_hst>
</hosting>
</values>
</set>
</domain>
</packet>
