• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Same content, same hardware, slower performance after reïnstall/upgrade Plesk

Hi,

The following happened:

Due to reorganizing the partition of the C-drive, we had to reïnstall Windows Server 2008 Web and Plesk on our server. At the same time we upgraded from Plesk 9.0 to Plesk 9.5.3. After the reinstall, we started to experience some speed issues on some of the domains.

We noticed domains didn't load as fast as they used to. After some research we had the following facts:
- The internet connection is fine, pinging is very fast and the problem also is there on the local machine itself.
- Some domains are slow, some not: in fact there are 2 different domains with exactly the same content and they load not as fast. After some extensive testing we can conclude that the loadtime for domain A is +/- 1 second. and for domain B 2 - 2.5 seconds. This is based on 30 tests from different locations.
- There are no domain specific changes made since the reïnstall (where we imported the backup from the last install)
- No hardware changes, only a much bigger partition on the C: drive
- There is a relatively small number of visitors on this server, therefore there are no hardware limitations reached
- A memory test is done and this shows no errors

So, my questions to solve this:

A. Is it possible this issue is because of the upgrade to Plesk 9.5.3? If yes, how can we solve this?
B. Are there other possible causes we can try?
