• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Subdomains - Physical Location

Hey folks.

I'm running Plesk Reloaded 7.54 on a Linux based 1and1 hosting account.

I have created a subdomain inside of plesk...

blog.mydomain.com

The physical location for this domain, as I understand it is

/subdomains/blog/httpdocs/ <--- (this was automatically created upon setting up a subdomain in Plesk)

However, nothing I place inside of this directory seems to be accessible.

If I add a license.txt into this folder.. I shoul be able to go to

http://blog.mydomain.com/license.txt

but it instead just gives me an error (file not found). So, clearly I've got the location fo the subdomain directory wrong.

Any ideas?? Thanks guys.

I'm about to answer my own question ;)

Looks like I needed to shutdown apache and start it up again.

This is the second time I've had to do this to get some changes in Plesk to show up.

Is this a common thing?

I have had to restart services not only on Plesk, but on non-Plesk servers also. Not always, but often enough that I just make it a habit to do so even if it's not supposed to be needed.
