  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

Update using YUM

I am new to plesk. What is the correct way to update qmail, apache, etc. Does the plesk update utility take care of it or do I just use yum? If using YUM do I need to use a certain repository?

Yum to maintain the vendor packages (apache, mysql, php, etc), the Plesk updater to maintain the Plesk packages (sitebuilder, psa, qmail, etc).

I am running Fedora Core 4 on Apache and am unable to use Yum to load apps. I don't have anything that looks like Yum files or Yum conf on my server (VPS came loaded with Virtuozzo and Plesk 8.0, which I upgraded to 8.2). How do I upgrade system files? Also, if I am installing unpackaged apps what is best procedure?
