Using MySql 4.1x for plesk 8.1

Hi there,

i recently bought a dedicated server with plesk 8.1. That plesk 8.1 come with mysql 5.0.27. Now, I have some php applications that use mysql 4.1x as requirement and when i installed them on my new server, they wont work anymore. First i thought it was maybe a problem with the script, but a tech told me that my application does not work because they are not compatible with mysql 5.x but just mysql 4.1x

Is there anyway to use my application like clientexec for example with my plesk 8.1 and mysql 5.x or maybe a way to downgrade mysql 5. x to mysql 4.1x. Thehre is no way to get a patch or update to use mysql 5.x with clientexec (latest one is 4.1x)

Someone told me that i can create another instance of mysql on my server and make it run on an another port. In this case, i should modify my application to use that new mysql instance on the other port. But i have no idea on how to do that.

Can someone help me plz or give me a trick to fix that ?

thank you very much

I'm running clientexec with PHP 5.x and MySQL 5.x without any issues. I'm running CE version 2.8.4, the newest is not 4.1.x BTW..

No tricks, patches or magic needed ;)

Good Luck.
