Hello all,

Does anyone know, how can i get webmail to work within plesk? I recently purchased plesk, but have not received my actual license and i am still functioning off the demo. Anyway, i keep getting "this page cannot be found error". Any ideas?

Also, to give a little background, i have only one domain due to the restrictions within the demo and I am using the one domain in a web forwarding capacity. So, what I want to know, is shouldn't I still be able to use webmail for this domain as well? I have the pool assigned at one pool, per domain.

thanks,

Hello

Make sure, you have Webmai; Component selected at Plesk -> Server -> Component Management, and enabled for this domain (Plesk -> Domains -> <domain> -> Mail).

Please, tell how it is going

I got the same problem, I checked, don't know what's wrong.

Hi

When you get this "page cannot be displayed", do you have the header displayed as "Plesk Webmail Client"? (the string on the top of the window, on forum it is "SWsoft - Forums ...")

You can also try to run the command "%plesk_bin%\websrvmng" --reconfigure-webmail

Does this help?

Webmail Not Working

Hi and thanks for the response,

I still get the same error even after reconfiguring from the command prompt, and webmail is definitely selected in Plesk, Server, Components, WebMail..." I get this error when typing in the browser webmail.mydomain.com:

"The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings... (--Cannot find server or DNS Error IE. -- displayed at the bottom of the page). I even telnet'd to webmail.mydomain.com 8425 and reply was could not open connection to host , on port 8425. Connection Failed.

So far, the only feature that is working properly in Plesk for me, is web forwarding (though I do note that the db function is working okay and I see Plesk is writing to the MSDNS and creating user info on local machine, etc, and making VD in IIS).

Again, appreciate your time in helping me.

Hello, stegels1000

That`s really strange, that you get the error while connecting to 8425. Does this happen when you connect locally from the server too? Possibly, there`s a problem with a firewall blocking port 8425.

And, webmail.domain.com might have problems, if you have DNS pointing to a different IP.

You can also try to go to Plesk -> components management -> set webmail to none and then set it back to Horde.

If you have any support agreement, or a 30-day free support, you can have our support team investigate the issue.

Unfortunately, it`s hard to diagnose the problem precisely right now.

Actually, you can try to reinstall webmail from Add/Remove programs -> Plesk -> change -> Modify -> Mail Management -> webmail. (remove it and then reinstall)

Hope this helps

Hi Skeeter

All of your suggestions were performed and I thank you for them. But they were not successful in gaining access to webmail.

So far, however, everything else in Plesk seems to be working now, the hosting, frame-forwarding, web forwarding features, sitebuilder, ftp feature, sending emails to the mail server and receiving the emails from the mail server itself, etc. All, except for the web email interface, which I am still researching in my attempts to resolve. I have already submitted a request to Plesk for assistance, as I am within the 30 day Support period. So I will keep trying to resolve the issue myself, until I am successful, along with accepting all of the support of this forum and swsoft-plesk as well.

Thanks again,

Hello All,

Just would like to let everyone know that there is no need to continue with this thread. I am now able to access webmail. The issue with my situation seemed to be due to conflicts with Active Directory on another server, which tied into the machine running plesk. Now that I have disconnected these ties, webmail has been working effectively.

However, I am not able to get this server, running plesk, recognized at registers so any info regarding this issue would be of great significance to me.

Thanks...

hello there

so you are not able to register any domain that is hosted in your server?

if the problem is that the dns servers your using can't be reached by the domain registrar, you can solve it while registering a new domain

I work with www.directi.com, so I don't know how other control panels are, but what you need is to ask your registrar to add child dns entries for your domain, so they can point to your IP adresses, for example:

ns.myserver.com = 192.168.0.1
ns1.myserver.com = 192.168.0.2

after you do that, you can register all other domains hosted on your server using ns.myserver.com and ns1.myserver.com

you can also register as customized dns entries for your clients, but you'll have to do the same thing for the domains:

ns.domain.com = 192.168.0.1
ns1.domain.com = 192.168.0.2

I hope that those informations were useful to you

sorry for my bad english :D
