• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.
  • We’re working on enhancing the Monitoring feature in Plesk, and we could really use your expertise! If you’re open to sharing your experiences with server and website monitoring or providing feedback, we’d love to have a one-hour online meeting with you.

Issue Website Import subdomains

Logan Walsh

New Pleskian
I am trying to import a subdomain from our cPanel to Plesk but it's not working as expected.

main domain source document root: /public_html
main URL: Example Domain

subdomain source document root: /public_html/star
subdomain URL: https://star.example.com

I've created the subdomain manually in Plesk. I confirmed that the FTP username and password works, I can connect via cli and navigate to public_html/star without errors.
But when I run the Website Importer, it connects and keeps setting under "Installation Path on the Source" - the source directory with the main domain /public_html when I need it to be /public_html/star

I've searched high and low in the forums and the help center but couldn't find anything specific that addresses this issue. And note: I can't use the Plesk Migrator because root access is restricted.
