Until Obsidian I had to add
if (!-e $request_filename){
rewrite ^(.*)$ /index.php break;
}
to "Additional NGINX directives" to make pretty permalinks work with wordpress.
Since Obsidian this seems to not be necessary anymore as permalinks seem to work without additional nginx config.
But it turns out that some stuff does not work without adding the lines mentioned above.
I have disabled proxymode and I use php-fpm served by nginx.
if I enable proxy mode and php-fpm by apache obviously everything works because the .htaccess generated by wordpress is used

- One example is the cart from woocommerce - the ajax update of quantities does not work (not sure yet why)
- The other case is "/wp-json/metaslider/v1/slideshow/save" and similar urls from the plugin metaslider. they all give an 404 error without the above config but work with the additional config
