Dear Pleskians! The Plesk Forum will be undergoing scheduled maintenance on Monday, 7th of July, at 9:00 AM UTC. The expected maintenance window is 2 hours.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding on the matter.
Everytime I login to plesk admin on a certain server, I get bounced out every few clicks and have to login again.
Plesk 12.0.18 Nothing extra installed.
Looking in /var/log/syslog, entries like this every few minutes
Nov 19 23:58:30 www dhclient: DHCPREQUEST of 192.96.159.143 on eth0 to...
Thank you, Custer, that is awesome. I'll send the info in a minute.
I don't know if you can address a question about the SSL process. I am wondering whether there is any reason why the process of receiving and installing a certificate cannot be automated. Installing these things is biggest...
What do you think about this circle J? Any practical suggestions. I sent a note explaining the problem to executives at odin, but they didn't give a flip about this.
Thank you for this explanation. I understand that various options you mentioned. I thought name servers are can be looked up for any domain was thinking plesk could use tht information to determine whether it is primary name server.
What if a CA came to plesk and said, "we have developed a system that run on plesk that support this. We would like you to consider offering it to your customers. It works great..." and they demo it and sure enough it's all automatic. We have partnered with RapidSSL.
Are you saying that...
Will this require a new server?
We have example.com running on a plesk/ubuntu server, in a webspace called xyz.com. We need example.com running on a webspace named example.com. Is there an easy way to make that change?
Do I have to start by spinning a new server, installing plesk, giving...
Thank you for responding. This is how I think plesk should make this work.
Select a domain for ssl.
Click.
Pay.
When the email comes from the CA, to authenticate the request for cert, click the link
Cert is installed automatically
why not?
12 hours ago, mail was working perfectly. Our web app could send all the mail we need it to send, it was delivered nearly instantaneously to its destination. We had just finished installing dkim and spf. Now, mail sent out through round mail is doing perfectly, but mail send from our webapp...
Why isn't this easy?
That is my question.
The easy part was paying out money. There is a link in plesk for obtaining ssl cert. I clicked it. It gave me a list of cert providers, I picked one. I filled out their form it took money from my bank, Then it sent mail containg four certificates...
i was pretty relieved when I got that email, because I was getting static from a guy who benefited from being able to say the mail was not getting through due to invalid credentials on the sending server. This removed his ability to do that. Feels good to be able to pass it on, too.
mxtoolbox made that report falsely on a domain I support.
I verified with my vps provider, digital ocean, that my setup was valid. Then I called mxtoolbox. A guy named Jeremy answered. He said the mxtoolbox report was wroing. He provided me the following email:
As near as I can tell, the dns zone might as well be deleted, because our name server is somewhere else. I don't see any of these entries affecting anything. I am missing something basic. What am I not understanding?
The dns zone says
This server acts as a primary nameserver for the DNS zone...
Thank you for that response.
This is our dns zone in plesk. It seems to me that the records we need are here, but you are not seeing them.
Why does this say
This server acts as a primary nameserver for the DNS zone hollyswritingclasses.com
The name servers for this domain are somewhere...
