This problem is actually with Plesk 10.4.4, but I can't find a Plesk 10 category on here. What I am trying to do is simple and have done this many times before. I have done the following:
Purchased an IP via OVH
Added to Plesk
Created a subscription
Made this site the default for the new...
Have ended up upgrading to Plesk 10 via the Update button in the control panel. Plesk upgraded fine and the scheduled backups now work fine. Not really a fix, but a way out without reinstall then recovery of settings / site from backup.
