Issue Failed to apply the firewall configuration.

Unfortunately I was disgusted with the support response, or lack thereof - for a firewall failure on a production machine - so I disabled the plesk firewall and now use a different solution. Your only option is to submit a ticket, well let me back up -- lets hope you purchased your plesk...

Still having a really challenging time with this. The ticket is a horror show.

Issue Failed to apply the firewall configuration.

Update: just spent 45+ minutes on a support chat that was underwhelming to say the least. After giving the support "agent" ssh access I then waited for 30 minutes just for him to come back and say he was unable to locate the log file and could I find the log and paste the error into the chat...

Issue Failed to apply the firewall configuration.

I know this was an issue before and maybe resolved in a firewall update but I just started having this happen on a fresh Ubuntu 22.04/Plesk/Litespeed install. It happens weather I'm running litespeed with apache/nginx disabled or apache/nginx with litespeed disabled. I get one of the following...

Question Trouble securing both plesk and email

I'm trying to get this mail server configured correctly. My original config was working but microsoft would not deliver my emails at all and when testing with the mxtool email deliverability tool, it was showing an SPF Fail because it was evaluating the spf record against the localhost address...

Question Imunify360 or fail2ban PLEASE give me your input

I have a new site up, a work in progress and I'm already seeing tons of malicious traffic. I went from relying on mod_security and fail2ban to installing imunify360 because of how much hype I saw online. Now, i'm how different Imunify360 works compared to fail2ban and I'm not convinced its...

Question How to block non-mail traffic to certain ip?

I have a single domain on a single cloud VPS server running web and mail service. I have 2 IP addresses on the same WAN adapter. The IP that I want all web traffic to flow through is proxied by cloudflare. The other IP is exposed because I'm running the mail server traffic through it. What would...

Question What to do for full backup solution?

Thanks Peter, this is all good to know. Having a recent snapshot at my cloud vps host sounds like the stopgap I was looking for.

Question What to do for full backup solution?

So im using plesk for a single domain with a wordpress site, doing a full backup of the server config & files every week with an incremental backup every night. I keep 2 full backups on the server, but download to a usb drive every week so I keep 2 months worth of the most recent backup files...

Question What would the best setup be?

Yes, and for the mail server I had to change it to webmail.domain because even after 2+ years of feature requests by countless people, plesk/lets encrypt does not issue ssl certs that will cover a mail.domain server setup. Seems incredible but here we are.

Question What would the best setup be?

Update: I found the workaround before my post was even approved by the mods, geez.... asleep at the switch.

Question What would the best setup be?

So I'm trying to determine the most secure and simple way to set up a single server that hosts a single domain with website + postfix/dovecot mail service. I'm proxying the web traffic through cloudflare. I don't see any way around not exposing the mail server IP, so I'm using a mail.domain mx...
