so I went to Lets Encrypt forum and they were very helpful.. very. we worked out the issue was with IPv6 server. I removed my AAAA records and tested on IPv4 and it worked perfect. So I could just remove all sites AAAA records. But I am still not happy 100% with that. So I think maybe it might...

so I applied security suggetions on my wordpress sites now they look funny.. Like all the CSS is missing... links not working... I am trying to backout the security changes but not obvious.. can you suggest where I should look first??

so finally all my sites are back.. 3 hours later.. All because I thought it might be a good idea to switch on SSL!! Seriously... The server would not restart. then when it did I was able to install Let Encrypt..what a nightmare... should have just left well alone.. out of my depth..
