I don't know what you mean by 'without the appropriate software to utilize it'? Maybe it is a false sense of security, but it would feel good to have an exact copy of the server running at home.

hi there, I want to setup at home a 'backup server' with Plesk It should be Centos 6, because my production servers are also.Centos 6 servers. My question is: is it enough to install a minimal server - without web, database and mail servers... and does Plesk install these... or should i choose...
