• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • (Plesk for Windows):
MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51, 5.1, and 5.3 are no longer shipped with Plesk because they have reached end of life. MariaDB Connector/ODBC 64-bit 3.2.4 is now used instead.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Issue IMAP requires security certificate? Maybe?

Looked at the instructions in the second paragraph of screenshot and setting there are correct too. Mail and Webmail are set to use certificate for www.mysite.co.nz. To confirm. POP3 and SMTP are using this certificate. IMAP is not.

Issue IMAP requires security certificate? Maybe?

Think I'm there now. Looking at settoing for my own domain. Looks correct to me. Webmail still doesn't like it...

Issue IMAP requires security certificate? Maybe?

It's the co-hosting situation that bothers me. If I change from 'default' to the domain certificate (mydomain.co.nz) with that upset the other websites on the VPS that have their own certificates assigned?

Issue IMAP requires security certificate? Maybe?

Hi @learning_curve I'll need to print out what you said there to process it... but thanks for the feedback. Just in case this has a bearing on what you said: My Plesk-enabled VPS hosts a number of client websites, including my own. Some of these websites have mail accounts associated with...

Issue IMAP requires security certificate? Maybe?

I delved a bit deeper and Firefox revealed more info. Definitely looks like a certificate thing. How do I resolve it?

Issue IMAP requires security certificate? Maybe?

I'm asking this question again in order to (hopefully) generate more discussion and hopefully resolve my issue. Late May this year the LetsEncrypt Security certificate on my domain expired and auto-renewed. The resulting chain of events caused a lot of angst and service disruption that I won't...

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

@Peter Debik , I think the fact that Webmail (which uses IMAP I believe) can't log in because of a certificate issue is at the root of the problem. Just checked again and both Webmail and *Wildcard are secured with a valid certificate. I'll be checking ports now. Thanks for this information.

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

Thanks for your concise reply @Peter Debik . Just a few more points to clear up: I am using the same (official) domain (NOT mail.mydomain.co.nz) on all devices. I am using the same username/passwords on all devices (for my wife's account and mine. These settings have now enabled POP3 and SMTP...

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

Hi again @Peter Debik -- thanks heaps for your support so far, back with a few questions: As a Plesk staff member, can you tell me the 'official' Plesk position on Courier IMAP/POP3/SMTP service. From what I've read I believe that Dovecot is preferred. I'm not wanting to lose the service I have...

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

Sorry @Peter Debik -- not quite as simple as that. I was attempting to 'obfuscate' my domain name (call me paranoid but this is a public forum). So I made up 'mail.mysite.co.nz' which is, of course, completely fictitious... it was just there as a placeholder/example. In fact yes, I am using my...

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

@Peter Debik –– thinking out loud here: When I first had this problem (February) I resolved it but switching from Dovecot to Courier. At the time it restored ALL mail service to all hosted email accounts on my VPS (on various domains. After recent problems I switched back to Dovecot. I...

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

Thanks for your feedback @Peter Debik . It’s great to have a list of steps that I can work through. I’m trying to set out what happened/is still happening here. As far as I can see, this problems started after something changed on the server (Security Certificate validation??). I had no problems...

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

Hi again @Peter Debik -- if my servername is OK (same as my wife's settings), and I"m using MY correct username and MY correct password, can't see why the connection isn't working. Can try tracing the IP (don't know anything about fail2ban or if it's even running -- if it's a standard Plesk...

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

Oh -- and further to this, SMTP is working on my wife's iPhone. I duplicated her settings on my phone (ports, ect) but it's not working on mine. Phones are the same... same OS ???

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

Thanks @Peter Debik -- that looks really interesting... although MacMail and Thunderbird are now working OK over POP with Dovecot. So it looks as if we're past the certificate issue... ? What's the deal with IMAP? Thinking about removing Dovecot and reinstalling it via command line. If there a...

Resolved dovecot imap ssl - not working

It's happening again!! Started when my security certificate self-renewed. Was unable to send email on one POP3 machine or via IMAP from one email account. Others were working fine. Fiddled about with server, enabled sending on Pop3 machine but could not send or receive on IMAP. Webmail...
