• Hi, Pleskians! We are running a UX testing of our upcoming product intended for server management and monitoring.
We would like to invite you to have a call with us and have some fun checking our prototype. The agenda is pretty simple - we bring new design and some scenarios that you need to walk through and succeed. We will be watching and taking insights for further development of the design.
If you would like to participate, please use this link to book a meeting. We will sent the link to the clickable prototype at the meeting.
  • Our UX team believes in the in the power of direct feedback and would like to invite you to participate in interviews, tests, and surveys.
To stay in the loop and never miss an opportunity to share your thoughts, please subscribe to our UX research program. If you were previously part of the Plesk UX research program, please re-subscribe to continue receiving our invitations.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Is there any plan to implement a solution to block outgoing spammy emails? Please see my post about the issue in 2023.

Question Swappiness value for a shared hosting environment

Hello, I am looking for recommendations on what could be a suitable value for the swappiness of a server in a shared hosting environment to maximize average speed. Of course, the typical values of 0, 1, 5, or 10 are on the table. The servers have all the services needed for shared hosting on...

Question Update specific nameserver for all domains

Hello, we want to update one nameserver entry for all domains hosted on a Plesk server (it's a slave NS entry). The zone records template will be updated accordingly for new domains created, but we do not want to apply it for all existing domains because some zones were manually changed and we...

    Question PHP-FPM (pm.max_requests) Query

The Plesk article referenced does not address pm.max_requests - only pm.max_children. The default value of 0 can be dangerous if there is a memory leak in a third-party library. We experienced this issue once in the past. As a result, the servers became unstable because the available free...

Question Best Practices for Backing Up (large) Plesk Servers

@Fede Marsell Yes, the last full backup plus - if existing - all incremental backups till the restore date need to be transferred first. If this is not possible or the restore fails because of broken files (of a multivolume backup) or other reasons it gets tricky. You can find several threads in...

Question Best Practices for Backing Up (large) Plesk Servers

The built-in backup solution is not very useful for large Plesk servers with several terabytes of user data. Let's say you have a full server backup every night to a remote storage. Have you ever tried a restore? If your free disk space is less than 50%, you cannot copy it back to your server...

Forwarded to devs Disabled PHP "Hosting performance settings management" can be bypassed by using .user.ini or ini_set()

Question Disabled "Hosting performance settings management" is ignored when using .user.ini

@Aleksei Fedorov Thanks for your reply, but in this case, all settings made by our clients via .user.ini would not work anymore. This is not an option. Furthermore, clients could still change the value inside PHP scripts with ini_set('memory_limit', '512M'); . Disabling ini_set() completely is...

Question Disabled "Hosting performance settings management" is ignored when using .user.ini

Hello, If the "Hosting performance settings management" is disabled in a service plan, users can still override settings like memory_limit or max_execution_time, e.g., via the .user.ini file in their subscriptions. I think many Plesk users disable that feature and believe that clients are not...

Issue fatal: Timeout before authentication for [IP-ADDRESS] port 44745

The reason behind is a different system logging daemon. The upgraded Debian 12 systems are normally using rsyslog as default system and kernel logging daemon. Installing Plesk on a fresh Debian 12 installation leads to the usage of syslog-ng as default system logging daemon. Is there any...

Subdomain cannot be removed with "remove" option from the domains list

Lately we had the some anomaly as @Bitpalast . We could not remove subdomains and/or domain aliases / domains from the administrator domain view using the menu with the three dots. When switching to the remove button everything worked out fine. Same es @Kaspar@Plesk we could not reproduce the...

Forwarded to devs SSL It! breaks renewal and usage of Let's Encrypt wildcard certificates when subdomains are involved

We never had an empty certificate request confirmation box in the moment, when a new certificate request was initiated manually. Maybe you should open an own bug report as my one is related to a different issue - the renewal of already existing wildcard certificates that are also used for...

@dklaric Was the renewal status already broken before the upgrade to the latest version of SSL It! ? If so see my annotations above.

Issue Too many connections (Several plesk servers same problem in the last week)

Hello @SalvadorS , it could also be a "bad crawler" that brings your site down. We had this a lot recently too even though we are using a very good firewall to block most of such bad networks where the crawlers coming from. Just check your access log of the domain affected with the following...

Forwarded to devs SSL It! breaks renewal and usage of Let's Encrypt wildcard certificates when subdomains are involved

We can confirm now, that the first domain + subdomain setups with one wildcard certificate did renew correctly without any issues. That looks promising. Let's wait one more week to be sure. Only combinations with an already broken renewal status are still problematic. The Plesk team is on it but...

Forwarded to devs SSL It! breaks renewal and usage of Let's Encrypt wildcard certificates when subdomains are involved

Clicking "Cancel" did work for us. Later the wildcard certificate was renewed correctly and assigned to the main domain plus subdomain. We have another server with the same issue. The certificate is not due yet but we still have an old order including the "Cancel" button. We did install the...

We did it but it has no effect. Looks like the bugfix does not work for our case. We did click now "Cancel". Let's wait another 24 hours if at least the certificate gets renewed.

Forwarded to devs SSL It! breaks renewal and usage of Let's Encrypt wildcard certificates when subdomains are involved

The affected certificate of domain + subdomain was not renewed and shows still the known buggy behavior: Does the new version take care already "broken" renewal processes?
