  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    Plesk Backups

Yes, you can download it to local PC. It will be .tar file with everything inside. Not sure though why would you want to modify these data manually. When restoring backup, you can pick necessary files to restore right in Plesk (if you don't want to restore everything).

Exactly. Always a part of subscription

    customers, domains, subscriptions, service plans

Customers can have one or more subscriptions. A subscription defines resource pack given and Service Plan is a "template" of subscription. Subscriptions can have one or more domains sharing the same pool of resources. Yes, each customer needs their own subscription. And subscription always...

    SSL certificates

Yes, you definitely can. However SSL certificate traditionally requires separate IP for a domain. So unless you have dedicated IP for each of your domains, you will need to employ one of those approaches: - rely on so called SNI technology (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_Name_Indication)...

    PHP Support only for FastCGI?

Hi Manuel, By now you will need to make update in your OS. In next version of Plesk we expect to be able to make OS updates, but not now unfortunately. If you do OS update, you most probably won't need any special action in Plesk. Perhaps Plesk will keep showing previous version of mod_php for...

    PHP Support only for FastCGI?

mod_php is an outdated technology which cannot have multiple PHP versions. If you want to benefit from additional PHP versions coming from Plesk, you will need to fix your site to support FastCGI.

    PHP Support only for FastCGI?

Apache cannot run multiple PHP versions for mod_php (Apache module). If you cannot make your site working in FastCGI, then your only option is to upgrade mod_php from OS updates.

    Easiest way to disable Plesk

You can probably remove Plesk and remove configtest from Apache start script, but it will probably only result in a broken server. If configtest is failing, then Apache probably won't work anyway. I think you real problem is in php5-mysqlnd - either it was not installed correctly or it is not...

    ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED after reboot

In general "site not working" gives very little information (almost none) about what happened. Moving sites from one machine to another gives enough opportunity for failure if performed wrong. I would suggest to check this: - Does your DNS resolve to a proper IP? i.e. I tried "nslookup...

    Microupdates overwrite PassivePorts

Exactly for that reason the file includes this statement: > cat /etc/proftpd.d/50-plesk.conf #ATTENTION! # #DO NOT MODIFY THIS FILE BECAUSE IT WAS GENERATED AUTOMATICALLY, #SO ALL YOUR CHANGES WILL BE LOST THE NEXT TIME THE FILE IS GENERATED.

How to install CentOS 7 on 1&1 virtual server?

CentOS 6 cannot be really upgraded to CentOS7 - it doesn't work even if no Plesk on board. CentOS 7 declared availability of OS upgrade at some point, but it didn't work. You also probably cannot install new OS at virtual server. Instead (as suggested above) you may need to request new server...

Given that Apache is shipped by CentOS, it might mean that's time to go for CentOS 7

I will change VPS,how can I save my warrant key?

Hi Zhang Qi, Assuming that "warrant key" is your license key (looks like "PLSK.12345678.1234"), the answer will depend on whether you purchased Plesk independently or with VPS. If you prurchased Plesk and VPS together, your VPS provider will close Plesk license once your VPS will close. If you...

Plesk 12.1.8 Beta Linux - how to upgrade

Technically you can do that, though we highly discourage upgrading production servers to preview. In case of any problem, you won't be able to downgrade or receive support. Proper path is to clone your server (VPS) and then run Plesk installer with --all-versions option. It will show you...
