  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

[PPP-14342, PPP-14359] Postfix wants to run on port 587 even though this is turned OFF

Hi Evgeny, As a matter of fact I was prepared for this anomaly and it didn't occur this time. It did several months ago when I updated 2 other servers to Plesk 12. After the migration I had some trouble with Nginx not starting, because it couldn't read the SSL-key. On the Plesk forum I found a...

[PPP-14342, PPP-14359] Postfix wants to run on port 587 even though this is turned OFF

It's ASSP (an anti-spam reverse proxy). But does it really matter? I "told" Plesk I don't want to make use of port 587, so it shouldn't configure postfix to do so. On Plesk's panel it is still turned off. BTW... The Dutch translation for this item is getting non-descriptive. It doesn't mention...

[PPP-14342, PPP-14359] Postfix wants to run on port 587 even though this is turned OFF

Each migration in the last years I'm running into this bug that Postfix wants to run on port 587 even though this is turned OFF in the Plesk Panel. Sometimes it does this after some update. Because another process is running on port 587 this means that postfix does not start and I have some...

SOA-record changes to secondary DNS after upgrading to Plesk 12

I recently upgraded my Plesk 11.5 server to Plesk 12. This server is running DNS for all our customers. Regularly I run a script I wrote that checks if my DNS settings are correct. It checks if the slave DNS-servers can resolve that domain and their serial info is the same. It also gives an...

Loose mailbox size policy doesn't work after upgrading to Plesk 12

Today I upgraded to Plesk 12 and during the day I got several customers that had problems with their mailbox size. According to Plesk they were exceeding the size, but they've been doing that for years. The setting that these limits don't have any real meaning is ignored after the upgrade...

DNS-records I recently modified on Master DNS-server sets the SOA-record to the 2nd

Interesting... Too bad our only DNS-server is running 11.53 The Plesk 12 server I'm running doesn't have DNS... Do you know if it gets fixed in 11??

DNS-records I recently modified on Master DNS-server sets the SOA-record to the 2nd

Funny you mention it.... I have a problem with adding new zones. They are not added to the slave server. After they are manually added there, the syncing works as it should. That slave server is 3rd party and I have to debug it together with them. Thus far we can't find the reason. They are...

DNS-records I recently modified on Master DNS-server sets the SOA-record to the 2nd

I wrote a script to test the integrity of my DNS and run it from time to time on my server... I just ran it today and it discovered I suddenly have 5 domains with SOA-records that doesn't point to itself. They point to the secondary nameserver. They are records that exist for years and were...

SMTP taking port 587 although it is turned off in the panel

Why wouldn't it? It does turn off port 587 immediately after I disable it in Server-Wide Mail settings? If what you say is true than that's a bug....

SMTP taking port 587 although it is turned off in the panel

It does work as you say, but then something all of a sudden happens and it gets turned on (not in the webif). I can give better feedback in the near future. I have a cronjob that keeps tab of changes in several directories (/etc/postfix being one of them). Currently the port 587 is taken, so it...

    Moving data to other partition

I'm still in progress with tweaking my system so I can take advantage of both the speed of the SSD and the space of the conventional disks (2 TB) The permission of both /tmp and /data/tmp was modified with chmod 1777 My current /etc/fstab ends like this: # added to save space on SSD...

SMTP taking port 587 although it is turned off in the panel

I'm running a reverse proxy on port 587 (ASSP) and noticed that it is taken by postfix even though it is turned off. Enabling it in the interface and turning it off will fix it... Although this morning I noticed it was running on port 587. I repeated the procedure.... I'm running Plesk 12...

    Moving data to other partition

I just took a server at a hosting service where I already have several Plesk servers running. The servers I already have running are equipped with 2 conventional disks in RAID1 This new server is equipped with a 2 x 2 TB and a 128 GB SSD disk. With a setup wizard you can install Plesk which...

Error in last update + backup not work

Hi Igor, I think I fixed it. Things were taking very long with support and with their feedback I suspected an error with one of the perl modules. I checked if XML::Simple was working and it wasn't. I desperately tried to install XML::Simple with cpan, but this wasn't possible I googled some...
