On Plesk for Linux mod_status is disabled on upgrades to improve Apache security. This is a one-time operation that occurs during an upgrade. You can manually enable mod_status later if needed.
When you go to Tools & Utilities > Updates you just get a message "Below is a list of components for which updates are available. Select the components that you want to update." but there is nothing below. See screenshot.
It looks very different to the same page in Firefox!
email parameter is not required, just remove that, then it'll go through.
Just received information from Parallels that a "feature request" has been issued to be able to do this through the GUI.
You need to create a user for the domain. At this time this can only be done through the CLI (/usr/local/psa/client -h) but I just heard from Plesk that they are going to fix the "add new subscription" control panel interface to allow adding a new subscription without adding a new domain.
Right, now I see where it is. I was looking for the webadmin link at the point where databases were listed, didn't realize I had to go into each database to find the link. Works ok for me.
But I have to say Plesk 10 takes some getting used to.
I had the same problem and found that if you use /usr/local/psa/bin/client it will let you create a customer without having to create a domain.
Epic Fail to Parallels for not allowing this to happen through the GUI.
I've just upgraded Plesk on a Virtuozzo VPS server. Normally there is a link to VZPP (or whatever you call it, the panel where you can control some Virtuozzo features for the VE) but it is no longer present.
offline_management is of course already set to yes for the VE.
I wanted to stop the proftpd server so went to /etc/xinetd.d/ftp_psa and set "disabled" to "yes" and it stopped it. Next day however it was running again and when I checked the disabled value in ftp_psa had changed back to no.
What's going on? Is Plesk automatically restarting it again? I...
Be careful with "/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk --with-spam" - I've found it sometimes corrupts /var/qmail/control/rcpthosts and /var/qmail/control/virtualdomains - good idea to back those up first.
They charge 1,300 USD for a license but can't find out how to ad a simple "unzip" button to the control panel so newbie users can unzip their own zip files but have to open support tickets for this.
Not impressed.
Thanks for the inputs, however, I think for the price charged for Plesk there ought to be a working spam system - and no, I don't think SA can be called "working", not as it stands. Maybe with ART's added modules, but it ought to come from Parallels as an integrated packed for the price we pay...
Thanks for the suggestion, however, I try to find any positive references or comments about this product here but the only references to it is your recommendations in different threads. That doesn't bring along warm feelings in me for this product. I'm also somewhat taken back by the price of...
Working for Parallels I expected you would say so.
I used SA for a long time and even after much tweaking at best it caught half of the spam, but with that came another 10% false positives - mails that were not spam but that SA designated as such.
With Gmail I have received 19,229 spams...
Spamassassin is virtually useless. Personally I have given up and now use Google Mail (Gmail) as their anti-spam works.
Look at Mailenable for Windows - http://www.mailenable.com/professional-edition.asp and make something like that. It's long overdue!
Well eventually I had the license keys updated for Plesk 9 but it was as you said not managed in the best way to say the least.
I also still think the interface is a mess. It seriously needs to be cleaned up.
We have a client who - according to the plesk stats - is using 3 GB of bandwidth daily for 18 email addresses (one domain). The client suspect one of the email addresses is responsible for the majority of the bandwidth usage. Is there a way we can find out which mail user is using all that...
I think you misunderstand the problem. Your suggestions are to how to reset the mail system (MTA) but the problem is to choose Atmail webmail instead of Horde webmail. Different problem.
Plesk 9 is buggy and clunky, it is impossible to find anything and often there are 2-3 ways to do the same thing. The user interface looks like someone took a big showel and just showeled feature in without any plans or thoughs.
Also the change of license key format is rediculous. I have 30...
