I would like to build a check_plesk_update, to get the version on Linux level which is currently installed is no problem, but is there a URL or something that always returns the current stable release, so that you could trigger an event in the monitoring in case of a deviation?

I have read a lot about git integration in plesk and it sounded great,e.g. here:

But actually as far as I found out, it is only possible to pull and deploy changes from a remote repository to your website. It is very disapointing that it is not possible...
With today's update(s) I find myself at a loss to explain why all the new versions of Plesk.
Is this new 17.8 version yet another independent version or is it an update to 17.5.3?
Which one(s) of these will have a stable version, eventually — only 17.0.17 and 17.8, or will there be many stable...
Is there currently, or plans for, an implementation that integrates version control into Plesk?
Low budget project, currently without SSL, and I'm attempting to plan for work allocation in regards to the efficiency of these types of projects.
