• Please be aware: Kaspersky Anti-Virus has been deprecated
With the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.64, "Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Servers" will be automatically removed from the servers it is installed on. We recommend that you migrate to Sophos Anti-Virus for Servers.
  • The Horde webmail has been deprecated. Its complete removal is scheduled for April 2025. For details and recommended actions, see the Feature and Deprecation Plan.

Resolved [12.5.30 -> 17.5.3] Plesk installer wants to remove PHP packages

Hangover2

Regular Pleskian
Hello,

we want to upgrade our Plesk 12.5.30 Server (Debian 7) to the latest stable Plesk Onyx Version 17.5.3.
When we check the list of packages that will bei installed/upgraded/removed by the CLI installer, it shows, that all additional Plesk PHP packages will be removed. They are not upgraded or reinstalled:

22 new packes will be installed
55 packages will be upgraded
[R] 6 packages will be removed:
[...]
[R] plesk-php56-release-5.6.32-debian7.0.17102712.amd64
[R] plesk-php70-release-7.0.25-debian7.0.17102712.amd64

We did abort the upgrade process because of that reason.

We have a lot of customers using different PHP versions.

Do we really have to install the optional Plesk PHP packages afterwards manually again by the plesk GUI and set them for all customers? Or do we miss sth.?

Thanks in advance for all answers!
Michael

The default name of Plesk php packages in Debain is plesk-php70 or plesk-php56 instead of plesk-php70-release or plesk-php56-release
I think you can perform upgrade and correct packages will be installed. If not - your always install them later with Plesk installer.

Thanks for the fast answer. The upgrade worked like a charm. The packages mentionned were only Plesk repository configurations for yum/apt. They were in conflict with the new "plesk-service-node-utilities 17.5.3" and had to be removed.
