  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

ASP stopping

PaulC

Regular Pleskian
ASP stops running on our PSA 6.5.1 server, a restart of IIS, and sometimes a restart of the server is needed.

We have applied to mapping and fpmapping fixes, but this doesnt seem to have cured it. Does anybody have any ideas how to track this down and fix it?

Thanks,
Paul

We had the same problem as you. Even with the new mapping.dll & fpmapping.dll (timestamp early February), the web services was stopping every 4 days, then every 2 days, and then 4 times a day.

After working on our server for 2 weeks, and a couple of trials & errors, plesk support has provided us with 2 new binaries :
- mapping.dll (timestamp: March 2)
- plesksrv.exe (timestamp: Feb. 24).

The server has been running stable for 24 hours now and going. They mentioned that this fix will be included in the next service pack (6.5.2) which is coming up "soon" (no date provided).

Restart IIS 5 or 6 with 100 sites without Plesk will take 2 minutes, so what's the difference?

Also, we have a server with well over 100 sites that runs fine with the original patch, although I am interested in testing this new one.

And the sites still load fast.

That "fix" will probably cause other things to fail down the road. Besides it will slow down your machine to a crawl once you start loading it up with sites. It takes IIS about 2 minutes to start with 100 sites on it with plesk. Without plesk, 10 seconds.
