Hello,

i tryed to backup my dedicated server using the backup manager. The backup started running but don't stop. In backup manager it keeps saying that backup is running. and I see that litle wheel turning. I even restarted my server but it won't stop. Can some one help me please?

Best regards, Herman.

Try to remove corresponding task file from /usr/local/psa/PMM/tasks/

Hello Igor,
thank you for your reply. I tryed to do what you said but on that location is nothing what is the same as the backup. This is the name of the backupfile:
"01-09-2015-00.00-uur_info_1509010000.xml" and I was looking for that number. Or is that not what you mean with taskfile?

Regards, Herman.

What is output of command:

# ls -la /usr/local/psa/PMM/tasks/

?

Hello, this is the output.

Name of file is ID of backup process. You can find your backup process with something like:

# ps ax | grep backup

Looks like backup still in progress. If it is really important for you - just kill this backup process.

Hello,

that also did not help. Then I tryed to put another backup (because there is a problem since yesterday wich I put here later) but that backp is also still running. So now there are 2 of them.

Regards, Herman.

Try to find a reason in backup logs. Contact Odin Support Team if necessary.

Same problem for me.
Backups to ftp storage are uploaded completely but the job keeps running and the backup in server repo isn't deleted after upload.
It would be not very problematic, but server disk space is limited, especially on SSDs ;-)
Tried different ftp targets, but everywhere the same behaviour.

Backups do finish when split to 2047 MB, but cannot be downloaded to server repository completely. Only the .tar file will be downloaded, but not the .tar1, .tar2 etc files.
Download of files > 2GB from ftp to server repo time out and does not copy anything.

Log does not show errors.

I have been seeing this for several months on 12.0.18 and now 12.5.30 also. Backup runs fine and uploads to ftp ok but the task never finishes and the connection still shows as open. If I manually terminate the below process the backup then completes successfully. However the temporary files at /usr/local/psa/PMM/tmp are not deleted:

/usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/pmm-ras --export-dump-as-file --dump-specification=backup_info_1509171130_1509192130.xml --dump-file-specification=ftps://[redacted address]/backup_1509171130_1509192130.tar --use-ftp-passive-mode --session-path=/usr/local/psa/PMM/sessions/2015-09-19-213006.184

Sometimes the next backup will complete OK and occasionally several will complete but then the problem happens again.

I have tried changing everything I can and have used several different FTP repository servers but the problem persists.

I have posted about this before but never seen a solution.
