• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Bind takes over after upgrade

I'm running a Windows 2003 server. I had Plesk 7.5.6 on it and decided to install 7.6.1 After I upgraded, Plesk of it's own accord, tried to set bind as the DNS service to use. There was a lot of problems with bind and MS DNS trying to use the same port and it resulted in me being unable to make DNS changes until I let bind take over. Now I'm getting errors in the event log which I suspect are caused by the server expecting a MS DNS server to be there.

Has anyone run into this and got any ideas on how to get back to the MS DNS server? thanks.
