  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

[Broken DNS server: Reports a server failure]

ok i'm at my wit's end here.........
i HOPE this is the right place to ask

out of 9 or 11 domains on my box, half of them do ok, the other half give me really stupid errors like the subject line when trying to do lookups, and even when using an outside box for dns the pages won't load for me....

I tell you what, i REALLY like plesk, and REALLY pushed using it, however i just started getting these errors the past couple of days, and this is a production box, i hate to think i'm going to have to do a complete reload on this thing to fix whatever has gone wrong this time...
by using the following test
http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/traversal.ch?domain=chatworlds.net&type=A
i see all items just fine, and all dns server entries are shown, however when the check tries to query the two chatworlds.net server IPs they both return the [Broken DNS server: Reports a server failure] error.... guys i'm frustrated, my head hurts, and i really DON"T want to drive to chicago to reload this puppy....
anyone got any ideas.......?
the resolve file is fine, in fact everything that i can think to look at is fine.......

Thanks in advance guys...
Frustrated in Cincinnati :)

PS. just in case this helps...
at one point this box was offline for service/transport, during that period of time the websites were transfered to a box that uses Cpanel, after this box was back online, the accounts that were added/changed were transfered back to this box from the cpanel box using the migration tool inside plesk....

hey maybe i'm just an idiot, and am overlooking something simple, but i'd rather be an idiot with a working box, than be one without one :p

Update, since several folks read the query, but obviously didn't know the answer
:)

$75.00 later and several emails back and forth to support, the issue was that the journal file was messed up ( corrupted) by the transfer from the cpanel box back to mine.

Problem solved
