TITLE

Bug - DNS service resets to service plan default for all subscriptions on any change to plan

PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE

Plesk 18.0.79, Debian 13, x64

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

On any change to a service plan, Plesk does switch the DNS service for every existing subscription/domain back to the plan default (i.e. "secondary" or "primary")

This only happens though, if additionally the "DNS zone management" Permission option is not set for that plan.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. create a service plan with with option "Domain DNS zone" set to "secondary" AND "DNS zone management" unset
  2. create subscription that utilizes this service plan
  3. set DNS to "primary" for the domain of that subscription
  4. change the name if the service plan

ACTUAL RESULT

DNS service of that domain gets set back to "secondary" instead of staying the way it was individually configured

EXPECTED RESULT

DNS settings of any individually configured domain should stay the way they were, whenever there is a change to a service plan. - regardless of the "DNS zone management" Permission flag

ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We have a Reseller that does not want end users to fiddle with the DNS settings of their domains.
So he does not grant the "DNS zone management" flag in the service plan.
Also the DNS Service is set to "secondary", to prevent problems (mail delivery for example) on domains that may not the Plesk dns service at all. (and it's easier to enable the DNS when needed, than remembering to disable it when not used)
