Calculating traffic

A bit question.

I can parse apache log and calculate details of traffic.
I can parse ProFTPd log and do same
I can parse qmail log (hard work) and do same.

How to calculate traffic generated from client scripts|ssh sessions?
I was trying use ipfw uid/gid counting - but it dos not work (

Any ideas?

System - FreeBSD 5.3
PSA - 7.5.3
