Can I use Plesk's API to create webusers or subdomains??

Does anyone know if I can use Plesk's API to create webusers (or subdomains if webusers is not possible)?

I need to automatically create FTP accounts for users of a website so that they can upload data to be processed overnight.

I'm looking at the XSD documents, but getting a little confused! I can see other people have used the API to add mailboxes, so I'm hoping webusers is possible also.

Or.... I suppose another option for me is to setup ProFtpd so that it's linked to a MySQL database for the FTP accounts.

Has anyone done this on a Plesk machine?
