• Debian 11 is approaching its end-of-life (vendor EOL date - August 31, 2026). Plesk Obsidian 18.0.80 will be the last release to support it.
If you are running Plesk Obsidian on Debian 11, we recommend you upgrade those servers to Debian 12 using our dist-upgrade tool.
  • We plan to deprecate and remove the support for XML RPC protocol versions earlier than 1.6.9.1 in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.82. We strongly recommend that you update all existing integrations using earlier versions of the XML RPC protocol to comply with the version 1.6.9.1 specification.

Cannot set anonymous privileges

Regular Pleskian
I just setup a new plesk box, everything was running just fine until i tried to enable anonymous FTP for a domain with dedicated IP. After enabling anonymous ftp and browsing to the ftp site of the domain ftp://ftp.domain.com. a username and password box pops up (which it shouldn't with anonymous) and clicking OK or cancel, i get the error message -

530 Cannot set anonymous privileges error

Need help resolving this.

Seems it is ProFTPd internal related issue. Look at this. Maybe it will help.

I have already came accross that thread during my hours of searching for a solution. My problem is different. My FTP works, customers can login when they supply user name and password. The anonymous feature in plesk is what is not working when i enable it, you will still get a prompt for a username and password like anonymous FTP was not enabled.

Any other suggestions?
Thank you
